Annual Feng Shui Flying Stars Cures for 2019 year of the pig

Laura Cerrano

For those who are curious, we have already begun entering into the year of the Yin Earth Pig. In general, the pig (or boar), in Chinese culture is seen as a sign of prosperity. Being a Yin year, the energy in general is said to be more gentle, relaxed, and favorably prosperous in various areas of life for most. By the way, the Chinese New Year starts on February 5th, 2019.

If you were born in: 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031, 2043, you are under the sign of the pig.

According to the Chinese astrological system, those born under the zodiac sign being celebrated, tend not to receive much luck. Instead, they receive lessons and challenges (which could be an opportunity for self evolution if you choose to perceive it that way). With this noted, if you are born under the pig sign, 2019 may bring emotional ups and downs, making you feel frustrated at times. You could refer to this as, ’growing pains.’ To help navigate these possible experiences, it’s important to be open to change and embrace it. Keep this phrase in mind, “what you resist, will persist.”

The energy of this year welcomes better problem solving. So, if you’ve had certain situations that have come up repetitively, the energy of this year could offer an extra boost to finally resolve it or at least move you in the right direction. You could also earn more recognition for your hard work and efforts, yet be sure the attention you receive is for good reasons. To further better your luck in 2019, its recommended to attend positive events and visit with truly supportive family and friends.

2019 annual flying stars chart

The Flying Stars chart provides annual, monthly, daily or even hourly forecasts. The chart you see above is annual.

It reveals the movement of both positive and negative energies in any given space. It’s important to note, locating the actual directions within your home is needed for this particular practice of Feng Shui. To help you with this, click on “How to Take a Compass Readingand you could also watch a video in how to do it. I recommend both.

Below are key recommendations for the 2019 annual flying stars chart:

#2 Star North-East illness and disaster:

This star stirs up health problems. Its recommended to place a metal object that holds the symbolism of good health and deflecting away negative energy. Connect with a metal item that you truly resonate with. For example, in my home I have a metal statue of Ganesh, who is known for removing obstacles.

Be sure to utilize the saltwater cure, which helps to dissipate and clear away negative energy. You could also implement the cure for star #5.

Salt Water Cure Ingredients:

  • Fill up a glass jar; with table or rock salt to about three-quarters full.

  • Place six coins on top of the salt in a circle. Make sure the coins are Yang side up; this is the side with the four Chinese characters. Don’t worry if the coins sink into the salt as you pour the water.

  • Fill the jar to the top with tap water. It would be a good idea to place a mat under the jar to protect furniture or flooring.

  • The jar will form crystals over time; this shows that it is working to absorb the negative energy.

  • Make sure the water is always topped up.

  • Do not cover the top of glass/container. Allow the salt water to be exposed to the air.

  • Try not to touch or move the jar too much as it stores a lot of negative energy.

#6 STAR East Celestial:

For those who have been busy with building his or her career, this star is said to offer stronger recognition and acknowledgement for your hard work! To further enhance this area of your home, the energy speaks to the nature of helpful people. You could display gifts, images, or a symbol that represent the helpful people in your life. Another way to acknowledge the # 6 visiting star could be by playing music or displaying items that provide ‘vibration,’ such as with a musical instrument that is particularly made of metal.

#7 STAR South-east Betrayal and Robbery:

This star alarms the possibility of people taking advantage of you. Mind your temper as well as to avoid unnecessary arguments or even fights. With that said, use common sense and never feel pressured into anything. As for your home and any other belongings, this star is reminding you to keep a mindful watch on your valuables and not to become lazy with wear you leave them. Also, since most finances these days are conducted online, pay attention to your billing statements as well. For those who prefer a more traditional cure for star #7, displaying the Blue Rhino and Elephant and/or a water feature is recommended within this area of the home.

# 8 Star center Prosperity Star:

This star promotes wealth and prosperity! You could bring in a ‘money tree’ plant along with displaying visuals or items that relate to your personal connection to wealth (how do you define wealth?). It’s also recommended to include some warmer colors within this sector of your home. Naturally, be sure this area is clutter free as to allow the prosperity star to effortlessly flow within this space.

#3 star south Quarrelsome:

This star is said to make it easier for you to become caught up in miscommunication. With that said, use common sense. Before signing anything, double-check the information. In regard to disagreements, If you know you have contributed to a discussion that is not productive to the well-being of others or yourself, be accountable. In general, gather your thoughts and get a better grip on your emotions before saying something you may regret, which could lead to bigger issues. This is when the teachings of emotional intelligence come in handy. Honestly, no matter where this star visits each year, being aware of your reactions to self and others is foundational to you growing as a human and spiritual being. In regard to this sector of the home, keep this area well lit, as this symbolizes ‘seeing the truth.’

#5 star south-west Misfortune:

In short for your home, its recommended to postpone any massive remodeling and renovations. Simplicity, organization and stillness is your friend for this sector of your home in 2019. For those who wish for a more traditional cure, you could use the 5 Element Pagoda and display it within the south-west. Reciting or displaying prayers or mantras of your choice is recommended as well. The purpose is to welcome in beneficial energy and help neutralize the negative forces. Remember, you could also implement the Salt Water cure in this section of your home.

#1 Star west lucky victory star:

This star encourages self-improvement, a good reputation, and high social status. If possible, it’s recommended to set up this area of your home for your studies and activate the use of this region within your home.

#9 Star north-west multiplicative:

This star tends to promote general happiness and success in career, as well as enhancements with material goods and spiritual development. To further enhance this energy from inside your home, the addition of healthy green leafy plants and fresh flowers is a great go-to. This promotes the growth of positive events within your life. It’s also noted to include some Earth element, such as with crystals or a crystal grid.

#4 North Love and Studies Star:

This star has the potential to activate a quality love relationship and improve your academics. In regard to academics, If the function of the room that resides in the North allows a place for you to conduct your studies, the energy of this star could promote stronger focus and more inspiration! As for romance, to further enhance this star, if you are in a healthy relationship, consider displaying photos of you and your loved one. The arrangement of wood element (2-3 plants) is also recommended within this section of the home.

What Are Fu (Foo) Dogs in Classical Feng Shui?

Laura Cerrano

A Brief History About Fu Dogs

“Fu” in Chinese means wealth, good fortune and prosperity. Fu Dogs are known as Guardian Lions which have been used in China since the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD). Another name is Chi lins which describes a mythical creature that features aspects of a dragon horse or Chinese unicorn. The concept became popular in Chinese Buddhism, subsequently spreading to other parts of Asia including, Japan, Korea, Tibet, Thailand, Burma, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Cambodia, Laos and Singapore.

Traditionally, Fu Dogs were placed in front of Imperial palaces, temples, and government offices. In modern day times, Fu Dogs come in various sizes and designs; miniature statues, bookends, door knobs, artwork, prints, decals, etc.

What To know when selecting your Fu Dogs

My client is in process of purchasing Fu Dogs and texted me, “How can I tell which Fu Dog is male and female? Do I need to have two of them?”

Answer: Yes, you always need two Fu Dogs as they represent the polarities of humanity and nature. If you happen to come across large Fu Dog statues, they tend to be anatomically correct, yet that is not the most polite way to check. So instead, direct your eyes to the Fu Dog’s paws.

Male: can be recognized with his right paw resting on a globe that represents protecting worldly wisdom. Depending on who manufactures the Fu Dog statue, some may even provide the “Flower of Life” design on the globe.

Female: can be recognized with her left paw pressing down on a cub (“demon”), which symbolizes protecting the home and removing negative energy.

Interesting observation: If one of your Fu Dogs has an open mouth, and the other has a closed one, this may represent the in-and-out breath, or the sound “om.”

How to Position your Fu Dogs

Traditionally, it’s recommended that you place the Fu Dogs by the front entrance from outside, making sure the heads of the Fu Dogs face outward.
