The Full Buck Moon and Feng Shui Tips for July 2019!
Laura Cerrano
According to astrologist Jessica Lanyadoo, “The lunar eclipse on July 16th is a powerful time for releasing; whether you need to let go of a habit, a relationship, or even the past, the energy is there to help you. The downside of this is that if you don't use this energy to transform what you've outgrown, you're likely to be confronted by drama, or find yourself caught up in obsessive and self-destructive thoughts, or projecting past hurts onto current situations.” -Source Full Buck Moon & Lunar Eclipse
As for me, leading up to the full moon, I have been taking the time to re-evaluate my intentions (focuses) and patterns of behavior that have not been beneficial emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically. I invite you to do the same, even if it's one thought, habit or behavior that you could change to better the evolution of self.
Looking at this from a Feng Shui perspective, blended with other healing modalities, here are some quick tips to help you take steps toward positive change during and after the full moon.
*Declutter. I know we hear this recommendation all the time, yet it's so true! Life is busy and we tend to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, not realizing a charge of energy from each day is building on top of the next. So, if it's been a minute since you gave your home a good cleaning, today is the day!
*Restate or re-write your intentions. This provides points of focus to help give you direction with what needs to be released from limiting yourself so we can make space for beneficial transformation. In the tradition of BTB Feng Shui, its recommended to write down at least 9 intentions on separate pieces of paper and placed inside 9 red envelopes (and do not seal them closed). Where to place the red envelopes? In general, an easy location could be next to a healthy plant, perhaps inside your home office, or the living room. This symbolizes growing your intentions.
*If you would like conduct a light smudging or sound healing for your home, this is a great additive as well. The energy will already be stirring, so the reason for smudging or sound healing is to gently nudge whatever is no longer in your best and highest good to move along. This is a great pairing with re-writing your intentions.
*If you have the opportunity this evening, bathe yourself in the full moon light. In the traditional Indian medicine system of Ayurveda, moon bathing is used for calming Pitta Dosha (a fiery temperament or too much heat in the body). In the evening, perhaps you could visit the beach, go for a walk around your neighborhood, take a hike in the mountains or just sit uptop your Brooklyn apartment rooftop
